What database structure does TRMS use? |
| A: TRMS’s self-optimizing database structure uses 1 KSDS file, 1 small RRDS file (referred to as the LOCK file) and from 1 to 255 RRDS files. This provides users with the ability to hold well over 1 terabyte worth of information within the TRMS system. With the use of TRMS’s automatic archive/purge process the space in the database is dynamically re-used. All reports are compressed before being written to the database for optimal use of your DASD space. Regardless of how many portions of a report are broken out, or how many views of a report are created, there is always only one copy of the report maintained on the database. |

Does TRMS have any chargeback capability (e.g. printing, report viewing, etc.)? |
| A: TRMS can write out separate SMF records based upon the automatic printing or reports by the TRMS system, the demand printing of reports by a user, the browsing of a report by a user, the accumulation of a report into the TRMS system or the deletion of a report. Those SMF records can then be used for charge back, analysis purposes, etc.. |

How is TRMS and TRMS NET/WEB licensed? |
| A: TRMS (mainframe) is licensed based upon CPU model and type (MIPs based). TRMS NET/WEB is licensed based upon concurrent users, as opposed to seats. This means that a separate license is not required for every person that may be accessing the systems, but for the number of those that are currently signed onto the system. |

Users simply need to type an X within the Windowing facility to indicate the columns. This is a one time setup for eahc report. |
